No, Ropeworkz provides all the equipment needed for the course.
It is best to wear comfortable light clothing that you can move around in easily and closed shoes.
It usually takes about a month for the certificates to arrive from IRATA. However, on assessment day you will be issued a copy of your assessment form that you can use in the interim as proof of a successful assessment.
You can start working straight after your successful assessment.
“Train To Pass” is our Training Guarantee.
Ropeworkz offers an extra day of training to help you refine your skills and ensure you are equipped for your assessment, but occasionally people fail their first assessment. There is a lot to learn, the course can be physically demanding, and sometimes silly mistakes are made. But don’t panic…
If your instructor feels you will benefit from some more training, they will advise you before your assessment. W can can then arrange for some extra training and a later assessment for you at no extra cost.
Alternatively, if you aren’t advised to do more training, but do happen to fail your assessment you can come back for more training, and an assessment, again free of charge.
We understand that mistakes happen and you shouldn’t be penalised for that.
We aim to have everyone pass the first time, but the priority for IRATA and Ropeworkz is to ensure that everyone is equipped to work safely.

IRATA certificates are valid for three years. Before expiry technicians need to revalidate or upgrade to the next level if they meet the requirements.
Technicians need to bring food and drinks. Ropeworkz does supply tea and coffee.
All technicians need to bring a form of identification, and all revalidating or upgrading technicians need to bring their logbooks.
This is up to the company you are working for but usually, they will expect you to do some sort of refresher training. If this is the case, contact Ropeworkz to arrange a day of refresher training. (No charge for past students).
